Grand Hotel Adriatico is a Best Western hotel in Florence, Italy. It is a short walk from the train station, and about a 10 minute walk to The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore. The staff spoke English. The hotel looked run down from the outside, but the rooms were nicely renovated inside.

The Room

The room was small, but clean and contained all the usual furniture and appliances, including a wall-mounted flat screen TV, and a safe. The bed was two single beds side-by-side. Internet was available for a fee. The shower had an awkward "shower curtain", so the bathroom got wet whenever someone showered. The towels and toiletries were all pretty standard.

Breakfast

The hotel breakfast was included in our package. The breakfast buffet included a variety of cheese and cold cuts, canned fruit, cereals, and some very unappealing hot foods (scrambled eggs and sausages). There was bread available for toasting and some buns and pastries. Overall, the food quality was average. Waiters offered us drinks when we arrived in the breakfast area. The cappuccino's were pretty good. There was a nice garden area for eating in, but we were not able to use it because it was raining.

Cost

When we stayed at the hotel, the cost was about $150 USD per night.
