Franklin Fountain is an old-style soda fountain, ice cream parlor, and small "museum" in Philadelphia. The restaurant is decorated with some old items, such as the cash register, and the bar with folding in chairs. They make soda the original way - by mixing syrup with soda water. The store is definitely neat to visit.

The Franklin Fountain has a selection of ice cream, sundaes, milk shakes, and ice cream floats. They have very limited seating. There were only a few places to sit inside, and just a few tables outside.

Dress

Very casual - shorts and t-shirt are fine.

Cost

$4.28 for an ice cream cone including tax.

Service

Place your order with one of the "soda jerks", pay, and then wait for your order to be served.

Items Ordered

Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cone

Cost:$4.28 including tax

The peanut butter ice cream was mostly a vanilla ice cream with peanut butter mixed in. It wasn't all that special a flavor, but it was a pretty good ice cream.

In the picture you can see a bit of the museum area.
