Devi is a more upscale Indian restaurant than most. The interior is decorated like the inside of a temple, and has a nice romantic interior. When we visited, the restaurant wasn't very busy. The food we ordered was served in separate dishes so that it could be shared. The food had some unusual twists from the typical Indian foods. It was a little on the expensive side, but the portions were also fairly large. We were not able to finish all this food between two people and had a nice helping of leftovers to take home.
Dress
Nice casual - jeans and a nice shirt are fine.
Cost
The food was more expensive than most Indian restaurants. Entrees were around $20
Items Ordered
Manchurian Cauliflower
Appetizer: sino-indian style - tomato, garlic, cayenneThe Manchurian cauliflower was a delicious appetizer. The cauliflower had a slightly crispy coating, and was covered in a delicious sour and slightly spicy tomato sauce.
Abha Aunty's Baingan
baby eggplant, tomatoes, onions, tamarindThe eggplant dish was made with little individual eggplants cooked in a tomato based sweet and sour sauce. They were a bit spicy, but they felt spicier the more I ate.
Jackfruit "Kathal" Biryaani
potatoes, cauliflower, onions, tomatoesThe Biryaani was not the best I've had. It was fairly mild on the spices. It was served on a yogurt sauce and mixed with a few pieces of vegetables. This was my first time trying Jackfruit. It is quite an unusual fruit with a slightly sour taste.
Butter Chicken /Chicken Tikka Masala
Side orderThe side of chicken tikka masala was quite large. It was a typical tasty butter chicken in a creamy but mild sauce.
