Hill Country BBQ is a market-style southern restaurant located in NYC. You are given a card when you enter, and you give that to the food stations as you go around. There are two stations - one where you can choose your meats, and another where you pick your sides. The meats are sold by-the-pound (you can request 1/4lb or 1/3lb or 1/2lb, too - it doesn't have to be a whole pound). The sides come in three sizes (small/medium/large). Overall everything was quite good - I anticipate returning.

Dress

Casual

Cost

Fairly reasonable - we paid about $50-$60 for two people (including a beer)

Reservations

Reservations were not accepted at the time we visited.

Items Ordered

Brisket and Ribs

We ordered 1/3lb of the lean brisket and 3 of the pork spare ribs. The ribs were a bit tough, but the brisket was excellent. It was tender and reasonably flavorful.

Sides

The sides are the best part of southern food in my opinion - we ordered corn bread, mac'n'cheese, sweet potatoes, and baked beans. They were all fantastic. The corn bread came with two pieces of corn bread, and we ordered the small size of the other options. It was just the right amount of food for two people.
