Colossi of Memnon

We visited the Colossi of Memnon on Day 4 of Trafalgar's Best of Egypt Tour. The Colossi are two fairly large statues across the Nile from the city of Luxor.

The Colossi of Memnon aren't as popular a tourist attraction as other temples - there aren't any entrance tickets or informational displays about the Colossi at the site. Although they are pretty big statues, there are other sites in Egypt that are much more impressive.

In my opinion, the neatest thing about visiting the Colossi of Memnon was how it was empty there. Most other tourist sites were full of visitors. It's possible that it gets busier later in the day, but at 6:20am when we were there, it was empty.

Estimated Visiting Time

There isn't much to see here besides the huge statues - you could probably spend approximately 15 or 20 minutes walking around them and taking pictures.

Cost

This is a free attraction. These statues are just sitting by the side of the road; there aren't any tickets or entrance fees.
