The City Café Bakery is an old gas station that has been converted into a café. It is located near the north-west corner of Victoria Park, which is a nice place to go for a walk afterwards.

The café has bread for purchase, pastries, pizzas, and sandwiches during certain hours. It also has a unique payment system – one simply drops cash into the "money box". I don’t think they accept any alternative forms of payment, although I could be mistaken.

They had a strange system where everything had two prices – one for eat-in, and one for take-out. The difference was not small, either – a pizza was $17 for eat-in, but $15 for take out. The only difference being that they cut it and served it to you for $2.

Cost

A single pizza was $17, although slices were available for $5.50. (It was expensive for the quality)

Items Ordered

Croissant

Cost:$1.25 for take-out, $1.50 for eat-in

The croissant was tasty, as croissants usually are. There was nothing spectacular about it.

Pizza

Cost:$15 for take-out, $17 for eat-in.

This pizza is half chicken pesto, and half mushrooms and feta cheese. There was a good amount of pesto on the pesto and chicken pizza. It added quite a nice flavor. The mushroom and cheese pizza had a good number of mushrooms. The pizza dough was very dry and crispy – not oily at all. The pizza was good, but I didn’t think it was of superior quality to other “high end” pizzas – it wasn’t worth the $17.
