Chocolatte is a chocolate cafe in Rosh Pina, Israel. We found it difficult to find this place. It's located on top of a hill, in a bit of an older area of the town. After parking and wandering around, we managed to find a sign that pointed us down a side street, down some stairs, and to the entrance of the building.

The interior of the cafe is quite nicely decorated. The architecture appears to be quite old. The cafe is decorated with couches and pillows, along with some more traditional tables and chairs. When we arrived (around 8:00pm on a Tuesday), there were only one or two other groups in the cafe, so our group was able to sit on the couches.

The cafe offers a variety of chocolates, cakes, and hot drinks. Although we didn't try it, we saw another group order a fondue plate which looked spectacular, arriving with a large plate overflowing with fresh fruits!

Cost

I thought the cafe was a bit overpriced for what it offered. The cakes were around 30 NIS each, which is close to $10. Although they were pretty good, I didn't think they were worth more than $5-$6. Chocolate drinks were also around 30 NIS each.

Service

There was nothing worth noting about the service. We were seated when we arrived, and service was as expected after that. The cafe had both English and Hebrew menus available.

Parking

The cafe is located in a strange area, and it's somewhat difficult to find. There is a parking lot a short walk away.

Items Ordered

Belgian Chocolate Cake

Cost:32 NIS

The belgian chocolate cake was served hot, with a small scoop of ice cream on the side. It tasted like a chocolate lava cake. It was quite good, and the sauce was also quite good. It's what you would expect from a lava cake. The ice cream was average.

Tricolade

Cost:29 NIS

The Tricolade was a slice of cake from the display case. It was made from three types of chocolate mousse. The layers were creamy, sweet, and delicious. The cake had a soft, thin top, with a moist cake layer on the bottom. This was my favorite cake of the evening.

Black Neto

Cost:29 NIS

The Black Neto cake was a dark chocolate mousse with vanilla creme brulee. It tasted very much like a chocolate mousse. The outer shell of the cake was quite hard, and difficult to eat. When trying to break off a bite-size piece, you just end up crushing the filling. The creme brulee inside was very good, and gave the cake a nice flavor.
