Casa Del Vin Santo
Florence, Toscana, Italy
Florence, Toscana, Italy

Casa Del Vin Santo is a pretty typical Italian restaurant located on a cute street a few blocks south of the Duomo in Florence, Italy. Overall, we thought the food was pretty average. Most of the waiters spoke good english, and most of the menu had english translations. Most of the patrons seemed to be tourists.
The pizza part of the kitchen is open to the restaurant so diners can see the pizza maker tossing the pizza dough.
Dress
Fairly casual
Cost
Pretty average for this type of restaurant. There was a 2€ cover charge. Pastas/salads/pizzas were around 8€.
Service
Our food all came out quickly - perhaps a little too quickly, as some of it wasn't quite hot enough.
Items Ordered
Insalata Caprese
Tomato, mozzarella, cheese, and basilThis was a pretty good salad choice, although it was the most expensive salad on the menu. The cheese was a fresh mozzarella cheese, and the tomatoes were fairly flavorful. The salad came with oil and vinegar bottles so we could pour on enough to suit our taste.
Ravioli alla cardinale
Ravioli with cream and tomato sauceThe ravioli dish consisted of three large raviolis in a tomato cream sauce. It was served with some pre-grated parmesan-style cheese on top. Surprisingly, the ravioli was cool in the middle - it didn't seem like it was cooked for long enough.
Pizza Margherita
mozzarella fior di latte, pomodoro (mozzarella, tomato)The margherita pizza was plain tasting, although the tomatoes were the nice sweet Italian variety. There were a few nice chunks of tomato in the sauce, but otherwise it was just a typical margherita pizza.
