Cafe Macchiato

Cafe Macchiato is one of many cafes in Leiden that has a floating patio on the river. It is quite nice to sit here on a nice day and enjoy the scenery. They offer coffee and other drinks as well as some sandwiches and light snacks. Their menu was in English and was out on all the tables.

Prices were average for this area. A cappuccino was €1.90.

The cappuccino came with a sweet biscuit. The drink was a little on the small side and had a very thick layer of foam. I found the coffee to be more bitter than I like - I had to add some of the provided sugar, which I wouldn't normally do with a cappuccino.

Service

Seat yourself at a table and someone will come to take your order. Since the menu already includes tax you can have your money prepared to pay when your order arrives, otherwise you may have to go inside to pay.

Dress

Very casual - especially on the patio, you can wear whatever you happen to be wearing as you walk by.
