Cafe La Gaffe is a french-style cafe located on Baldwin Street in Toronto. I was quite impressed with everything we ordered here. The food was reasonably priced, and just the kind of brunch fare that I was in the mood for.
We were seated on their covered back patio, which was heated, but it was near the end of December and freezing cold outside. The patio wasn't nearly as warm and comfortable as an indoor seat could have been, but had a neat atmosphere.

Casual
Cost
Most brunch items are reasonably priced from around $8 - $14.
Service
Service was a bit on the slow side, but the restaurant was quite busy when we were there.
Reservations
Reservations are recommended, although we were able to get a table for brunch without reservations (with a 15 minute wait). The restaurant is fairly small.
Items Ordered
Omelette
Roasted Mix Vegetable with Brie. Served with a market salad and home friesThree different omelette options were available - the mix vegetable & brie looked the best to me. The brie cheese was delicious. There were a good amount of vegetables on the inside of the omelette. The salad and potatoes were also quite good.
Steak & Eggs
Grilled four oz fillet mignon, two eggs, home fries and toast. Served with a market saladThere's nothing like having steak & eggs to start off your day. This plate was excellent. Everything was delicious - even the strawberry jam was great. The eggs were perfect, and served with some toast. The steak was delicious, and went well with the nicely spiced potatoes/onions/peppers. The salad had a nice vinaigrette dressing and made me feel that the meal had at least one somewhat healthy component.
