Batzenhäusl

Batzenhausl is a German pub and restaurant in Bolzano. The building's interior wooden decor lends a nice rustic feel to the pub, and helps demonstrate how old the building is (it was supposedly around since 1404). Seating is available both indoors and outdoors. Menus are in Italian and German. We were quite pleased with the food here.

This dish consisted of four "meat" balls. They were all different colors/flavors, and were fun to share. This was my least favorite dish we ordered - everything seemed to have a horseradish taste.

This dish consisted of thinly sliced beef, fried potatoes, and fried onions. Simply delicious! It was a bit oily, but quite flavorful and tasty. The meat was also nice and tender.

This dish had vegetables and grilled beef served in a frying pan with pine nuts, with garlic bread on the side. The vegetables were quite good, while the meat a bit chewy.
