Bagels & Beans is a chain of restaurants in this part of Europe. This location in Leiden is located on the popular pedestrian street among many shops and restaurants. There are several tables outside on the street. The restaurant offers a variety of drinks, bagels and bagel sandwiches.

Cost

I thought it was rather pricey - €3.10 was the cheapest bagel sandwich available.

Items Ordered

Bagel with Cream Cheese - Bagel Classic

with cream cheese of your choice
Cost:€3.10

I ordered a whole wheat sesame bagel with pesto & sun-dried tomatoes cream cheese. The bagel came toasted and warm and tasted like a pretty good bagel. It was served with a large ball of cream cheese that would have been enough for at least 2 bagels. The cheese was not salty, like sun dried tomatoes sometimes are, but actually a little bit sweet. I also found it a bit spicy, perhaps from some crushed pepper sprinkled on top. It mostly tasted like cream cheese with a hint of flavor. I didn't think it was really anything special, and also was a pretty small lunch. I was disappointed for the price I paid.

Service

Although it looks like the kind of place where you order and pay at the counter, it is actually more cafe style - sit at an open table and someone will come to take your order. The menus had both Dutch and English as well as pictures. The staff also spoke English.

Dress

Very casual - anything goes.
