The Arc De Triomphe is a national monument in France. It is a large arch built in the middle of a busy roundabout. To access the arch, take one of the underground walking tunnels that lead to the center of the roundabout.

Inside the arch, visitors walk up a tall spiral staircase that goes almost all the way to the top. There is an elevator available for those who cannot climb stairs, but most people are required to take the stairs.

At the top of the arch, there are a few rooms with some displays about the history of the arch and arches in general. They were slightly interesting to browse through. From there, you can climb outside to the rooftop where there are nice views of Paris. The view is nice, but not as good as the view from the The Eiffel Tower. You get a nice view of the star pattern that surrounds the arch, and the straight line that connects several monuments from the Louvre to the new Arch in La Defense.

Cost

It is free to visit the monument on the outside. An entrance fee of 9€ is required to enter the monument and climb to the rooftop. The entrance fee is included with a Paris Museum Pass

Expected Visiting Time

If you are just going to see the monument from the outside, 15-20 minutes should be sufficient. If you plan to go inside and climb to the top, allow at least 45 minutes.
