Al Dente is an Italian restaurant in the North End area of Boston. There are hundreds of Italian restaurants around here, all looking very much the same. Al Dente was a pretty average restaurant - our lunch here was good, but nothing spectacular.

Dress

It's a fairly casual place.

Cost

Most pastas are around $15, with entrees between $15-$20.

Items Ordered

Caprese Salad

Beefsteak tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, onion, basil, extra virgin olive oil, salt, and pepper
Cost:$9.95

I think these are my favorite types of salads. The cheese was fairly moist, but the tomatoes were only marginally flavorful. A tasty tomato at the beginning of March is probably asking too much. I found the onion had a strong taste that was overpowering.

Lasagna

The lasagna was not on the menu, but our server informed us they had it available, so we decided to try it out. It came with a meat ball that was pretty tasty. It was salty, but still a pretty good choice. It was a large portion that we managed to share between two people.
